From Web developer to Management Consultant

Life 2.0

Going through Hell just to make it to Heaven

That seems like an appropriate tagline for me. I just graduated from Singapore Management University on Tuesday with a BSc in Information Systems Management. Now, I have a week’s worth of rest before I dive headlong into the Practice department of SAS institute till mid-July. 2 weeks after that, I will commence my career as a Management Consultant in the Global Markets space in Accenture.

It’s seems great that I have my life planned for the next 3 months but at the same time, it’s another mountain to climb, having just got past 1.

You make great friends in university, you develop your talents, you learn how to work with others, and you discover a certain type of people that you really cannot work with no matter what you try. That’s the reality of it. Not everyone can work together with each other.

3 years ago, I took a huge gamble leaving my job as a Web Developer in CNET Networks (Now CBS after the buyout) to pursue my studies. As I look back, it was worth it. I gained knowledge and experience that I would not gotten otherwise.
